Innovative product development
The most important and promising focus of the IMBIAN Group is the R&D, production and distribution of its patented innovative product - standalone multiplex immunoassay (Immunochips). Such a technology based on application of flat protein matrices with a low density deposition of capture reagents, conjugates based on colloidal gold, an optical signal amplification and stabilization system, and visual or instrumental recording of results.
The IMBIAN Group researchers defined the conditions and procedures of multiplex immunoassay (immunochips) production, developed immunochip prototypes and implemented subsequent laboratory tests.
These multiplex immunodiagnostics based on protein matrices can simultaneously determine many different analytes in a test sample. Immunoassay performed using immunochips require less time, reagents and sample volume, they are more informative and cost-effective compared to monospecific tests.
The sensitivity and specificity of immunoassay based on immunochips is comparable with single-profile ELISA kit.

IMBIAN Group produced, tested and certified immunochip kits for detecting IgG to antigens of various infectious agents as well as immunochip kits for a simultaneous detection of both antigens and IgG antibodies. In addition, multiplex immunoassay kits are being developed for the simultaneous detection of antigens and IgG & IgM antibodies in the test sample.
In a partnership with SYNTECO, a special device for high-quality and semi-quantitative of immunoassay outcome recording (chip reader) was developed. Currently in a mutual project we are developing software for interpretation and recording of immunoassay results with a data capability to LMS. We also launched a project of the creation of semi-automatic and automatic chip analyzers.

Test results
A comparative evaluation of detection systems using the peroxidase-based conjugates, alkaline phosphatase, amplification system "Super-CARD" and colloidal gold for multiplex dot immunoassay of antibodies was carried out. As a result it was possible to establish the following:
the sensitivity of the detection system with colloidal gold is 8 times higher than Super-CARD amplification, 30 times higher than alkaline phosphatase conjugate and 250 times than peroxidase conjugate;
the limit of detection of human IgG by using gold immunosols was 10 pg with a dynamic range of signal change 5 - 10 pg which overlaps the concentration range of specific IgG of a typical natural immune response;
the most specific results are provided by the conjugate of colloidal gold with monoclonal antibodies to human IgG.
